Used Honda Civic at Auction Direct USA

The used vehicle market will never be the same.

Auction Direct USA Used Vehicle Superstore was formed in Rochester, New York in 2005 by a handful of rebellious automotive professionals who loved the car business but not the old methods and practices inherent to the industry. Using this combined 70 years of automotive experience surrounded by wholesale auto auctions and automotive retailing, the incredible new automotive experience called Auction Direct USA was created. The result was a completely "customer-driven" sales process in a fun, open atmosphere, that will help usher in a new age and method of buying used cars.

A little history of the Honda Civic

The Honda Civic has a secret life, well maybe not secret but not widely known. Did you know that the Honda Civic is used in not only drag racing but tour racing as well? Who would have thought that back in 1972 when the Honda Civic first hit the streets that this subcompact/compact car would become any form of racecar. In 1972, the Civic was first introduced as a two-door coupe. Later that year Honda came out with a three-door hatchback.

By no means was the Honda Civic produced with the mindset of a racing car, not in performance nor design, but that did not stop some racing enthusiast that saw the potential in the Honda Civic. The Honda Civic first hit the race scene in 1973 in the Austrian Bathurst 1000 Endurance race and since has shown up in the British Touring Car Championship, Barwell Motorsport, and Cartek Motorsport endurance races. Jas Motorsport used the Super 2000 spec Civic in the European Touring Car Championship from 2002 to 2005. As recent as 2008, Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden ran Honda Civics in the British Touring Car Championship This sporty little subcompact did not go without victories, as in 2007 the Honda’s R&D Engineering Team pulled a first place in the E1 class of the 25 Hours of Thunderhill marathon race running a Civic Si-coupe. This is enough to make any race enthusiast consider buying a used Honda Civic.

Drag racing has been no exception to the rule either in the use of a used Honda Civic in racing. The Honda Civic, well known for being a top performer and sporty, are easily modified due to the vast amount of modification parts available for the Civic. The Honda Civic is so versatile that racers can use their racecar as a family car as well due to the ease in swapping out the Civic engine. Even today, older models of the Honda Civic are still a hit amongst car fanatics and have been the best selling car in Canada as 2008 for ten consecutive years.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rated the Honda Civic the second best 2007 compact car in overall crash worthiness. The Honda Civic has won many awards. From 1972 to 1974 it won the Car of the Year Japan” award, in 1973, it ranked 3rd in Europe’s Car Of The Year. The U.S. Road Test magazine ranked it top in the 1974 Car of the Year and in 1980 and 2006, it was ranked top car in the Motor Sport Import of the Year. This is just a few of the many awards the Honda Civic has won. The versatility, the safety, and all the modification options make owning a used Honda Civic a great fit for anyone.
